To: All Yoga Teacher Certification Graduates From: The Swami Re: An Advanced Yoga Studies Retreat - Creating a monastic refuge in the forest (YogaAlliance approved 62 hours)
Rose Mountain Retreat Center Las Vegas, New Mexico
|
A retreat for all graduates of the Yoga Teacher Training and National Certification Course is scheduled for June 2008. It will give us an opportunity to come together as a group of fellow teachers and yogis in a spectacular mountain venue. We will deepen our practices of hatha yoga, sitting meditation (creating our own monastery as we "take the one seat"), hiking (allowing the mountain to be our teacher) and of course the Noble Silence each evening. We will meet daily to create a vision for the future (how is it going so far and where we are headed with all of this?) and discuss ways to improve our teaching methodology and administration - ways to work smarter.

Rose Mountain Retreat Center, at 8,000 feet elevation, borders the Santa Fe National Forest in a pristine and remote section of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains in northern New Mexico. It offers jaw-dropping panoramas, clean air, rustic facilities and delicious food. About half the retreatants are accommodated in tenting areas, the other half in tent cabins that sleep one or two. The fly-in city is Albuquerque and car sharing will be arranged. Of all the venues I have used over the years, Rose Mountain is the most sacred of spaces - it offers us a true forest monastic refuge. And Jonathan Gillan, my mountain savvy nephew from New York, will lead us on our daily treks.
When? 1 thru 6 June, 2008 Where? Las Vegas, New Mexico
